THE BIGGEST THREAT TO HUMAN LIFE!




You all might think that the CORONA virus is the biggest threat to human life, but is it? Why couldn't doctors make any medicine to cure coronavirus? Why does it affect older adults and people who are already suffering from diabetes or thyroid more?

The biggest threat to human life is SEDENTARY LIFESTYLE. Our past has shown us that every 100 years, the earth naturally creates some virus or any other circumstance that leads to mass death (Pandemic / Epidemic). 1720 - Great Plague of Marseille; 1820 - Cholera Outbreak; 1920 - Spanish Flu; 2020 - COVID-19. Even if coronavirus vanishes, who is to say that no other virus will come in the future, and that won't be deadlier than covid-19. Even if corona vanishes and no other new virus comes in the coming times, you can't ignore the fact that life expectancy has drastically reduced compared to the past. More and more people are dying because of high blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid, and all kinds of other diseases.




So, the question is, why is this virus affecting older adults and people who are already suffering from problems like high blood pressure, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, etc.? And if there is no medicine for covid, how do we fight against this virus? It is our body and body only that can fight viruses or any other bacteria. Do you know we inhale millions of bacteria with every breath? Biologists estimate that around 380 trillion viruses live inside your body right now, ten times more than the number of bacteria. Some may cause illness, while some coexist with you.

Simply put, the earth is already trying to kill us every second. It is our immune system (blood) that protects us and helps us fight these diseases. But in the age of technology and machines, people have become very passive, which has regressed us so much as human beings that a whole new array of diseases have come into existence.


This regression has gone so far down that India's obesity rate is increasing faster than the world average. For instance, the prevalence of obesity in India has risen from 2.2 to 5.1 between 1998 to 2020. We barely do any of our day-to-day work. Thinking about doing any exercise is far off - we have maids for household work, lifts rather than climbing stairs, private vehicles for traveling, etc. A crash diet is like the cherry on the top to weaken our immunity. Do you know that type 2 diabetes is a symptom of lack of resistance training in regular life? And do you know that high blood pressure or high resting heart rate can result from low cardiovascular exercise (cardio) in your daily routine, which can even cause heart attack and is responsible for so many deaths every year?


Every problem or sickness you feel is like a warning sign that your body is trying to give you. That is why teenage kids are least affected by the Corona Virus. Still, thanks to our guidance, we have even managed to get adolescents to follow this Sedentary lifestyle, eating a fat-based diet, and having to deal with diseases that typically affected senior citizens.


Since we cannot control nature and any virus earth creates, we can keep our immunity high to fight all bacterial and viral diseases that come our way. So how do we keep our immunity high? Doing at least a few physical activities no matter the intensity and eating wholesome foods could be a good start.

In anatomy and orthodontics, a law states that your bones will adapt/ change to the load under which it is placed. The applications of this law are far beyond the horizons in which it was developed. This law is known as Wolff's Law.

As Wolff's Law states - form follows function; i.e., following a healthy and fit lifestyle is the only way to boost your immunity and be prepared for any challenges that come our way. Although following a healthy lifestyle cannot be compressed into just one hour of a day you decide to do exercise in; instead, it is about choosing to live your 24 hours for the rest of your life.


So if you are still thinking that you don't need to start working out and eat healthier, then if not covid-19, some other disease or virus will eventually catch you and kill you.
